The Kart-ON Project aims to develop tools and activities for the early programming education.

our research and resources

Our project, Kart-ON, takes its name from Turkish of cardboards which is "karton". We develop student and teacher resources, AI-powered mobile applications and tangible interfaces, and community workshop guides to accelerate the research on delivering high-quality accessible programming education to everyone. Our project has two main objectives:

  1. To develop an accessible, innovative, low-cost, and interactive programming application to be used in programming education. To support physical interactions for encouraging active and natural interactions.

  2. To evaluate the contribution of our application to programming education in a classroom environment through pilot studies conducted in schools.

All the code and content is open source. We can list two solid reasons behind the decision:

  • The contribution of coders, educators, makers and all volunteers,

  • Better explain the open-source culture to students with showing real-life examples.
